I am an instructional faculty member in the department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I manage and teach the lecture and laboratory classes in the Biotechnology major. These classes include Animal Cell Culture, Bioprocessing and Plant Tissue Culture (co-taught with Horticulture and Biology). I have over 18 years of experience in providing training to undergraduates, graduate students and professionals from the pharmaceutical industry. My expertise lies in the fields of animal cell culture, bioprocessing and separation and purification training programs. In the past, I have represented the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology department as a member of the faculty senate at Penn State. I also guide and mentor undergraduate, graduate and alumni students in their pursuit of employment in the pharmaceutical industry. My research interests focus on media evaluation and design. I also serve as a consultant to the pharmaceutical industry in the areas of problem solving and process optimization.
