While the primary focus is on recruiting candidates for the assistant professor level, candidates at the associate professor level may also be considered. It boasts one of the world’s leading research groups in the statistical analysis of astronomical data, as evidenced by the Center for Astrostatistics. The Center for Astrostatistics has trained generations of astronomers in the statistical analysis of astronomical data by organizing annual summer schools and workshops.
