The Office of Diversity and Inclusion plays a central role in fostering an environment where all students, faculty, staff, and postdoctoral scholars feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed. Our mission is to support all members of our community by cultivating inclusive and equitable working and learning environments. Our office champions diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, to fuel scientific innovation and promote a strong sense of belonging. This work advances excellence in teaching, learning, and discovery across the college.
Our office is here to serve as a resource hub and collaborative partner. We support recruitment and retention efforts, organize cultural heritage celebrations and identity-affirming programming, provide workshops and training on inclusive practices, and help the college to integrate inclusive excellence into our work.
Our team is dedicated to building connections across the college and beyond. We are committed to creating opportunities for professional development, community building, and dialogue that strengthen our shared commitment to equity and belonging.
Through these efforts, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion helps to ensure that all members of our community not only succeed but also thrive, contributing their fullest talents to the advancement of science and society.

Climate and Diversity Committee
The mission of the Climate and Diversity Committee is to further the college’s vision of providing a supportive and welcoming environment in which all of its diverse members can carry out their individual missions of research, service, teaching, and learning.
College Guide Program
The College Guide Program was created to provide a safe and informal opportunity for members of our college to discuss problems and issues outside of formal channels.
Diversity in STEM Corporate Partners Program
The Diversity in STEM Corporate Partners Program creates and fosters connections between underrepresented students in the life, physical, and mathematical sciences and partner corporations.
Kudos
The people within our college community represent the critical anchors that allow us to succeed with respect to our mission and core values, and their exemplary contributions deserve recognition. We invite nominations for “kudos” to amplify the visibility of our extraordinary community.
Launch Program
The central goal of the Launch Program is to help new tenure-line faculty start their career at Penn State by providing connections, multiple perspectives, practical help, and support during their first year.

The Next STEPS committee provides education and training for the college community, focused on enhancing the college's ability to attract and retain the very best faculty and graduate students.
SeED Conference
The Science Equity & Diversity (SeED) Conference brings together students, faculty, staff, alumni, and external partners to explore and strengthen the impact of inclusive excellence in STEM.
