I am an academic adviser and research scientist with 22 years of laboratory and project management experience. I love science and have worked on a variety of applied and basic research projects; some of my favorites were isolating microbes from Yellowstone National Park to make biofuels and working with algae to design bioreactors that harvest a broader range of the UV spectrum. I am fascinated with microbes - where they are, what they do in our bodies, and how we can exploit them for our gain in the environment and industry. I also love helping students discover their vision for themselves in science and working together to plan their degree program at Penn State. Make an appointment to see me using Starfish, or call my office at (814) 865-4695.

I am available for 30 minute advising appointments. Check my calendar on Starfish and sign up for a time that works for you. You can also try to reach me on my office phone at 814-865-4695.
