About Me

I joined as a graduate student in the lab of Dr. Vasudevan Seshadri at NCCS, India. After receiving my Ph.D. in Biotechnology from University of Pune, India in 2013, I worked as a visiting fellow in the lab of Dr. Jon Lorsch at National Institutes of Health, USA. I am currently working as a Research Assistant Professor at BMMB in the lab of Dr. Joseph Reese at Pennsylvania State University.

Gene expression regulation in eukaryotic cells

Research Summary

My research focus has been on understanding the gene regulatory mechanisms in eukaryotic cells. In my Ph.D. I worked on elucidating the mechanism of glucose stimulated translational regulation of insulin mRNA. As a post-doc at NIH, I worked on genome-wide analysis of upstream translation in yeast cells. I specifically focused on understanding the stress-dependent changes in the accuracy of translation regulation.

Currently, I am working on deciphering the genome-wide and proteome-wide functional significance of CCR4-NOT complex using CRISPR.
