Academic Plans for BS in Forensic Science
Students follow the suggested academic plan (SAP) that corresponds with the semester they began at Penn State. For example, if your first semester at Penn State was Spring 2023, you would use the Bulletin SAP for the Fall 2022 - Spring 2023 school year.
The Faculty Senate has recently approved updates to the Forensic Science curriculum for students who began in Fall 2023 or later, but these changes are not yet reflected in the currently published Bulletin. Please use the PDFs below and not the Bulletin for accurate SAPs if your starting semester is Fall 2023 or later.
Started Fall 2023, Spring 2024, Summer 2024, or later:

Entrance-to-Major (ETM)
For students who begin at Penn State in Fall 2024 or later, entrance-to-major requirements are CHEM 110, CHEM 111, CHEM 112, CHEM 210, FRNSC 210, MATH 140, MATH 141, and PHYS 211 or PHYS 250 with a grade of C or better, as well as a cumulative 2.5 GPA for these eight entrance-to-major classes. Students must also have a 2.0 overall GPA.
Students who began at the university in fall 2012 semester through summer 2024 must complete CHEM 110, CHEM 111, CHEM 112, FRNSC 210, and MATH 140 with a grade of C or better in order to enter the major. Students must also have a 2.0 overall GPA.
