No. Schools openly accept (and even prefer) more-personal, individual letters as part of your letter packet. You will not be penalized in the admissions process for using a letter packet.

Whatever major you are most interested in and will be most successful in while also balancing getting your required courses and experiences necessary for your application.

Most students plan to take their entrance exam in the spring of their junior year (March/April/May). This allows you to get your score prior to the application cycle opening. Later exams (June/July/August/September) may delay your application completion.

Check the “Exploring/Prerequisite Courses” page to see Penn State equivalents to most health-professions programs. Also be sure to check with schools you are most interested in.
