Launch

What We Do

Mission

The central goal of the Launch program is to help new tenure-track faculty start their career at Penn State by providing connections, multiple perspectives, practical help and support during their first year.

The Launch program runs individual launch committees for new faculty members.

  • Each new tenure-track faculty member is offered an opportunity to meet with a tailored launch committee monthly during their first year.
  • Launch Conveners Committee: The organizing committee oversees the program and provides chairs for the individual launch committees.

History

The Launch Program has been run at Penn State since 2021 and is inspired by a similar program at the University of Michigan.
