The Department of Chemistry at Penn State has announced plans to create a new, decorative display to celebrate the achievements of the department’s Teas Scholars, a group of undergraduate students who demonstrate academic excellence.
The Teas Scholarship was established to assist Penn State chemistry majors with tuition costs. The scholarship recognizes undergraduate students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, ability, and a passion for chemistry. Two chemistry students are selected to receive the scholarship each year.
The project is part of an effort to install a series of decorative and informative displays throughout Whitmore building. These displays will be designed to encourage students to get involved in the chemistry community and take advantage of educational resources while also recognizing student achievements.
The initial Teas Scholar display will feature the four current scholars: Sojung Kim, Devon Sweeder, August Rothenberger, and Jordan Ort. The display was designed by Holly Veenis. It will be installed in the coming months on the wall across from the undergraduate office reception area.
Please join the Department of Chemistry in celebrating the achievements and talents of our undergraduate students!
