Rachel Krizek, a graduate student in the Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Molecular Biology program, is interested in transmission of arthropod borne diseases, especially the malaria parasite. Her previous research experiences have ranged from studying a transmission blocking vaccine against Lyme disease to studying anopheline mosquito foraging behavior in Northern Zambia. Rachel earned her Masters degree in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and her Bachelors in Biology from Appalachian State University.
