Eberly College of Science tenure-line faculty promotions, effective July 1, 2025

Fourteen tenured and tenure-line faculty members in the Eberly College of Science have received academic promotions, effective July 1, 2025.

The college’s nontenure-line faculty promotions have also been announced.

The following individuals have been promoted to professor:

  • Jacob L. Bourjaily, professor of physics, Department of Physics
  • Ephraim M. Hanks, professor of statistics, Department of Statistics
  • Wenrui Hao, professor of mathematics, Department of Mathematics
  • Heather M. Hines, professor of biology, Department of Biology
  • Timothy C. Meredith, professor of biochemistry and molecular biology Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
  • Timothy Miyashiro, professor of biochemistry and molecular biology, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology

The following individuals have been promoted to associate professor:

  • Nicole Crowley, associate professor of biology, Department of Biology
  • Luiz A. De Viveiros Souza Filho, associate professor of physics, Department of Physics
  • Mark Hedglin, associate professor of chemistry, Department of Chemistry
  • David A. Kennedy, associate professor of biology, Department of Biology
  • Janine L. Kwapis, associate professor of biology, Department of Biology
  • Joel Leja, associate professor of astronomy and astrophysics, Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics
  • Hyung Suk Tak, associate professor of statistics, Department of Statistics
  • David P. L. Toews, associate professor of biology, Department of Biology
