SMILES Project recognized at "We are Mathematics" Conference

Dennis Pearl, Bob Carey and Larry Lesser win NSF award.

The "SMILES" project - on using song in teaching statistics - has won a national award. In particular, the NSF's "We are Mathematics" competition for best video describing a research project

This work is hosted by CAUSE at www.CAUSEweb.org/smiles. CAUSE is a national organization whose mission is to support and advance undergraduate statistics education, in four target areas: resources, professional development, outreach, and research. CAUSE is led by Dennis Pearl who is also the PI of the PSU SMILES grant in collaboration with investigators Larry Lesser at University of Texas, El Paso and John Weber at Georgia State University.
