Dr. Babu has been named a distinguished professor by Penn State in acknowledgment for his decades of contributions to fields such as probabilistic number theory, resampling methods, nonparametrics, goodness of fit, and of course, astrostatistics.
On January 22nd, Penn State's Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs named 15 distinguished faculty. Among them, Jogesh Babu, professor of statistics, professor of astronomy and astrophysics. Recently Dr. Babu was also honored at the International Conference on Statistics and Probability at the Kolkata campus of the Indian Statistical Institute where he was presented with a ceremonial shawl.
