Braddock and McKinstry Scholarships
The 2025 Braddock Scholarship, of up to $10,000 annually, is available to outstanding high school seniors who are interested in the study of Astronomy & Astrophysics, Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Forensic Science, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Physics, or Pre-Medicine at Penn State's University Park campus. Several scholarships are offered annually to incoming students using the application below. The selection is based on the essays submitted as well as the overall strength of the student's high school performance and extra-curricular achievements. The applicant’s high school transcript should indicate an emphasis on science coursework or be consistent with the intent to major in one of the indicated disciplines.
The 2025 McKinstry Scholarship, which provides up to full tuition and half of on-campus room and board costs, is available to outstanding high school seniors who are interested in the study of Biology or PreMedicine at Penn State's University Park campus, who are Pennsylvania residents, and who are identified as having high financial need as determined by their FAFSA form. Two to three awards may be made annually, and the selection uses the same application and selection process as the Braddock scholarship. The applicant’s high school transcript should indicate an emphasis on life science coursework or be consistent with the intent to major in one of the indicated disciplines.
