What motivates you to do science?

My motivation for pursing science is the constant discovery of how the human body and mind work both independently and in concert with the world around us. In my current role, I am now able to apply all of my scientific knowledge toward developing unique cancer treatments that have the ability to change the lives of people all over the world.

What does Black History Month mean to you?

A time to highlight the accomplishments of people in this country who were historically unheard and undervalued. Black History Month is a time to celebrate progress toward promoting the success of black men and women in the US.

Is there anything else you’d like to share?

I am very proud to be a Penn State alumna. I attended Penn State for both college and medical school and received an excellent education. I have indeed been the minority in almost every class during my educational journey and my professional career, but this has taught me to work even harder, believe even more in myself, and trust even more that God is with me in everything I do.
