The third annual Health Professions Expo at Penn State will provide an exceptional platform for connecting professionals, organizations, and aspiring students interested in the healthcare sector. This is open to anyone interested in the health professions, including current students, alumni, faculty, staff, and students from other campuses and universities and will be a great way to connect with healthcare programs from across the country.

Concurrent Information Sessions | Willard Building

The evening before the Health Professions Fair of the Penn State Health Professions Expo, sponsors will host concurrent information sessions. This means that multiple sessions will run at the same time, allowing attendees to choose topics that best fit their interests and career goals. These sessions feature interactive workshops and presentations, panels, and discussions led by health professionals, admissions offices, and educators, providing valuable insights into various fields and pathways within healthcare.

Attendees who attend 3 or more sessions will be entered into a raffle to win a set of test (MCAT, GRE, or DAT) prep books.

Health Professions Fair | Alumni Hall & Heritage Hall, HUB-Robeson Center

Participating programs will have tables where students can ask questions about their schools and programs, discuss GPA expectations, prerequisites, application timelines, and receive brochures, flyers, and even some swag like pens, bags, and water bottles from different programs. Students should feel free to come and go throughout the fair timeline and do not need to attend during the entirety of the fair.

Attendees who register in both halls will be entered to win 1 of several fabulous prizes TBD.

 

 

Preparing for the Health Professions Expo

You'll get the most out of the event by doing a little prep work before the Health Professions Expo.

First- and Second-Year Students: Plan to use this event to explore all the possible opportunities in the health professions. Use our foundations guide to help you prepare for before, during, and after the Health Professions Expo. 

Juniors, Seniors, and Upcoming Applicants: Plan to use this event to learn more about schools in your desired profession. Use our upcoming applicants guide to help you prepare for before, during, and after the Health Professions Expo.

Additional Tips

You can tailor your introduction based on each school or organization you find. Remember to practice in front of a mirror, with friends and campus career offices. You can include some of the bullet points below. 

  • Name
  • Semester standing
  • Major
  • Opportunities that you are seeking
  • Relevant experience (work, internship, volunteer work)
  • Highlights of skills and strengths
  • Knowledge of the school/company

 A first impression goes a long way. Business professional or business casual is recommended, and don't forget your smile. To learn more about planning your attire for the fair check out this resource. Need an outfit? Find a suit to wear at the Professional Attire Closet.

Alumni Hall is located on the first floor of the HUB Robeson Center. If entering from Pollock Road, turn left. If entering from the ground floor (near the food courts), go up the central staircase toward the first-floor. Walk past the large seating areas and take a right just before the exit doors. Alumni Hall is down the hall along the Pollock Road side of the building, just past the restrooms. It will be marked accordingly.
