Below is a listing of Frequently Asked Questions the Staff Advisory Committee has received in the past.

Once a member’s term comes to an end, HR will reach out to the respective Department or Dean’s Office to send the call for those interested in joining. Please notify your supervisor. Typically, the SAC meets once a month for an hour to plan our next event and brainstorm on new ideas. The committee may occasionally meet additionally if needed.

A term on the SAC is for 3 years. There is an option to serve two terms if interested, for a total of 6 years.

Yes, many members are apart of several different committees within the College or University. We work closely with the Climate and Diversity Staff Subcommittee on several events!

Being a part of the SAC allows you to network with your fellow colleagues from different or similar backgrounds within the College. It is a great way to find out what more the College has to offer to the staff while also developing key leadership and team building skills. You may also use your participation in the SAC on your resume and in your annual reviews through HR.

Our mission as a committee is to provide networking opportunities and to discuss staff issues and forward recommendations and solutions to the Dean, thus creating a direct avenue to address issues of importance to staff. We host several events that focus on intercollegiate partnership (i.e. Hot Chocolate Social, Big Picture Event, etc.) and several events that focus on staff wellness (i.e. Staff Town Hall, Staff Engagement Social, etc.). If you have any issues or ideas on what more our College can do to promote staff togetherness and welfare, please speak up! We are always open to hearing thoughts on new events or suggestions on how to improve. You can do this by joining our committee as a member or Shadow Member, speaking to your respective SAC representative, or by using our feedback survey.
