Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate departmental visits for invited speakers in the BMB Seminar Series, distinguished lecturers, and faculty candidates 
  • Assist the Seminar and Distinguished Lecture Committee and the Faculty Search Committee 
  • Serve as main point of contact for guest speakers and candidates 
  • Advise guests and hosts on seminar policies and procedures 
  • Arrange flight reservations, hotel accommodations, itineraries, and honorariums 
  • Produce seminar notices, press releases, and brochures for publication 
  • Schedule media technicians and lecture halls 
  • Compile financial forms and travel reimbursement documents; submit items to be processed 
  • Manage web content relating to seminars and distinguished lectures 
  • Monitor seminar, lecture, and faculty search expenditures 
  • Schedule general-purpose classrooms for meetings, activities, and special events
