Forensic Science Program
Duties and Responsibilities
General Undergraduate & Graduate Program Coordinating:
- Serve as the first point of contact for the Forensic Science Program
- Coordinate concurrent majors process, change of majors and minors, degree audits, course substitutions and entrance to major forms.
- Build and maintain the schedule of courses for the Forensic Science Program.
- Course scheduling, evening and final exam scheduling, and reserve general-purpose classrooms/conference rooms.
- Organize special program events: graduate student recruitment, graduation receptions, award recognition ceremonies, and special program events.
- Assist with awards: collect and compile student eligibility information for undergraduate/graduate departmental awards; review and verify eligibility requirements.
- Supervise exam proctors, instructional assistants, and work-study students.
- Facilitate the collecting, organizing, and archiving all FRNSC course syllabi and textbook adoptions.
- Assist faculty and staff with maintaining program calendars.
- Coordinate visitor and guest speaker seminars and workshops.
- Prepare and produce the weekly program broadcast and semester newsletter for all program students, staff and faculty.
- Coordinate SEEQs and student surveys.
Undergraduate Program Coordinating:
- Process petition forms for course substitutions, waivers, and prerequisite override requests.
- Assist the Undergraduate Student Handbook Committee
Graduate Program Coordinating:
- Manage the application process for Graduate Student Recruitment
- Monitor all materials received from prospective students; maintain info on the GRADS system.
- Coordinate arrangements for prospective student visits (hotel, itineraries, meals, etc.)
- Send acceptance/rejection letters, and compile information for committee review.
- Event planning of the Forensic Science MPS Open House, Graduate Student Recruitment Weekend, grad student orientation, and research presentation seminars.
- Responsible for the onboarding of incoming graduate students for new grad student orientation.
- Utilize LionPATH to enter and retrieve information for admission, drop/add, instructional information, course scheduling, audits, transcripts, etc.
- Coordinate all grad student documents regarding the final research project, committee members, deadlines, etc. required for graduation.
