Faculty Awards and Honors: June 2016
Stephen J. Benkovic, an Evan Pugh Professor of Chemistry and Holder of the Eberly Family Chair in Chemistry, has been elected as a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors.
The prestigious Bruno Rossi Prize has been awarded this year to W. Niel Brandt, the Verne M. Willaman Professor of Astronomy and Astrophysics. The prize is the top award given each year by the High Energy Astrophysics Division of the American Astronomical Society.
Scott Phillips, an associate professor of chemistry and holder of the Lou Martarano Career Development Professorship, has been honored with the inaugural Stephen and Patricia Benkovic Early Career Professorship.
Mikael Rechtsman, an assistant professor of physics, has been honored with an Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship in recognition of his research accomplishments.
Raymond E. Schaak, DuPont Professor of Materials Chemistry at Penn State University, has been honored with the 2016 Inorganic Nanoscience Award from the American Chemical Society's Division of Inorganic Chemistry.
