Squire Booker receives Faculty Scholar Medal

22 April 2016

Squire Booker, Professor of Chemistry, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, as well as a Howard Hughes Medical Investigator, has been selected to receive the 2016 Penn State Faculty Scholar Medal in Life Sciences. Established in 1980, the award recognizes scholarly or creative excellence represented by a single contribution or a series of contributions around a coherent theme. A committee of faculty peers reviews nominations and recommends candidates to Penn State's president.

The theme of the research in the Booker lab is understanding at the detailed molecular level the reaction mechanisms employed by various enzymes, and then exploiting what is learned to impact favorably on human health and the human condition in general.
