Rene Garcia Named 2011 Homecoming King

Rene Garcia_crownRene Garcia, a senior forensic science major from Herndon, Virginia, was named the 2011 Penn State homecoming king during the Homecoming pep rally on October 14. Paige Rothaus, a senior advertising student, was named homecoming queen.

Aside from being a science student and newly crowned homecoming king, Garcia is also very involved on campus. He is a Penn State cheerleader, an RA in East Halls, president of the Blue & White Society, and one of the co-founders of the Penn State Women's Volleyball Student Section.

Through Blue & White Society, he is involved with THON, Relay for Life, community service events that raise money for the Special Olympics, and the Centre County Food Bank. In addition, Garcia also been a part of a program called Lil' Lions, a mentoring program for Second Mile children. After he graduates in May 2012, Garcia hopes to work for the FBI as a special agent. Congratulations, Rene!
