From Penn State student to start-up entrepreneur, alum to share fifty years of experience during online lecture April 2

Alumnus Morris Taradalsky will be presenting a live online lecture titled “My journey from Penn State through corporate America to entrepreneurism” on Thursday, April 2nd, from 1:35 to 2:50 pm on Zoom. He is a co-founder and chairman of Napa Technology, a company that provides intelligent wine preservation and dispensing technology worldwide. The talk will focus on the highlights of his fifty years of experience as well as insights and lessons that were learned along the way.

Taradalsky graduated from Penn State in 1970 with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a minor in physics and was named a Penn State Alumni fellow in 1994. About ten years later, he co-founded his startup, Napa Technology.

Prior to his work with Napa Technology, Taradalsky served as vice president of engineering and chief technology officer for Brocade Communications and as executive vice president of engineering for Exodus Communications. He also held management positions at Apple Computer Inc., including chief information officer and vice president and general manager, where he introduced Apple’s first line of network servers. Taradalsky entered the corporate world at IBM Corp., where he had a distinguished eighteen-year career, including managing IBM’s largest programming laboratory and filing numerous patents. His work with IBM led to him being honored with the IBM Invention Achievement Award.

Taradalsky currently resides in San Jose, CA, where he consults with numerous start-up ventures.
