Garcia Named to 2011 Homecoming Court

Rene Garcia, a senior forensic science major from Herndon, Virginia, was selected to be part of the 2011 Penn State homecoming court. Homecoming is set for October 14-15, 2011. This year's theme is "Forever Lions Endless Pride."

Garcia Named to 2011 Homecoming CourtRene Garcia, a senior forensic science major with a chemistry minor, from Herndon, Virginia, was selected to be part of the 2011 Penn State homecoming court. Homecoming is set for October 14-15, 2011. This year's theme is "Forever Lions Endless Pride."

Aside from being a science student, Garcia is also very involved on campus. He is a Penn State cheerleader, an RA in East Halls, president of the Blue & White Society, and one of the co-founders of the Penn State Women's Volleyball Student Section.

Through Blue & White Society, he is involved with THON, Relay for Life, community service events that raise money for the Special Olympics, and the Centre County Food Bank. In addition, Garcia also been a part of a program called Lil' Lions, a mentoring program for Second Mile children. After he graduates in May 2012, Garcia hopes to work for the FBI as a special agent.

King & Queen Voting will take place through out Homecoming Week, October 10-14, 2011. Students can vote for their choice (one male, one female) at homecoming.psu.edu.
