The J. Jeffrey and Ann Marie Fox Graduate School at Penn State and Penn State Global have announced the awardees for the Fall 2024 Graduate Student International Travel Grants. Of 39 applications, seven were selected for $1,500 grants to assist them in presenting their research at international conferences outside the United States.
The recipients for fall 2024 are:
- Olanrewaju Shittu (College of Agricultural Sciences)
- Maria Alejandra Gil Polo (College of Agricultural Sciences)
- Qiurong Song (College of Information Sciences and Technology)
- Christine Ta (College of the Liberal Arts)
- Cecilia Cavero-Sanchez (College of the Liberal Arts)
- Maria Barsukova (Eberly College of Science)
- Vyankatesh Zambare (Eberly College of Science)
Recipients will be utilizing the funding for academic and professional conferences throughout North America, South America and Europe.
Recipient Olanrewaju Shittu, who used the funding to attend and present at the 6th International Symposium on Fusarium Head Blight (ISFHB) in Niagara Falls, Canada, described the experience as providing “an invaluable opportunity for networking and collaboration.”
“Attending the conference was an enriching experience, both professionally and personally,” he said. “It offered new insights and connections that will continue to shape my work. I am grateful to the Penn State Graduate Student International Travel Grant for supporting this opportunity.”
