Eberly College of Science tenure-line faculty promotions, effective July 1, 2023

Thirteen tenured and tenure-line faculty members in the Eberly College of Science have received academic promotions, effective July 1, 2023.
 
The college’s nontenure-line faculty promotions have also been announced.

The following individuals have been promoted to professor: 

• Charlie Anderson, professor of biology
• Lu Bai, professor of biochemistry and molecular biology and of physics, 
• Le Bao, professor of statistics, Department of Statistics
• David Boehr, professor of chemistry, Department of Chemistry
• Maciej Boni, professor of biology, Department of Biology
• Jeffrey Case, professor of mathematics, Department of Mathematics
• Santhosh Girirajan, professor of genomics, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
• Benjamin Lear, professor of chemistry, Department of Chemistry
• Mikael Rechtsman, professor of physics, Department of Physics
• Zhiren Wang, professor of mathematics, Department of Mathematics
• Lingzhou Xue, professor of statistics, Department of statistics

The following individuals have been promoted to associate professor:

• Nita Bharti, associate professor of biology, Department of Biology,
• John Lesieutre, associate professor of mathematics, Department of Mathematics
