Cross-country tour raising funds and awareness for metastatic breast cancer to make stop at Penn State on April 16, 2015

Sea to Sea Event LogoYou are invited to attend an event to raise awareness for metastatic breast cancer (MBC) research on Thursday, April 16 at 10 am in the lobby of N/S Frear Building on the Penn State University Park campus. The event, which will feature light refreshments and a short presentation, is one stop on the "Sea to Sea for MBC" campaign that is meeting with researchers, patients, and donors at 34 events across the country to raise money and awareness for metastatic breast cancer research. "Sea to Sea for MBC" is organized by METAvivor, an all-volunteer organization dedicated to changing the lives of patients with metastatic breast cancer.

Andrea MastroThe METAvivor "Sea to Sea for MBC" campaign comes to Penn State to visit with Andrea M. Mastro, professor of microbiology and cell biology. Mastro, who has received numerous awards for her research on breast cancer, focuses her research on understanding the spread of breast cancer to bone. Mastro received research funding from METAvivor in 2011.

"Sea to Sea for MBC" welcomes attendance by all members of the Penn State community who are interested in research related to metastatic breast cancer, including scientists, students, staff, administrators, and anyone whose life or loved ones have been affected by breast cancer.
