Chemistry Students Receive Continuing Graduate Student Awards

The Department of Chemistry is pleased to announce that twenty-four chemistry graduate students have been named 2020-2021 recipients of the department’s Continuing Graduate Awards. 

The Continuing Graduate Student Awards were created to recognize research accomplishments, publications and talks. The awards recognize and reward well-rounded and dedicated students who demonstrate independence, communication skills, motivation, perseverance, ability to work with others, dedication, critical thinking skills, creativity, and research and writing skills. This year twenty-four students have been selected to receive the awards. 

Vivek Aryal of the Giri group has been named a recipient of Dalalian Award. 

Auston Butterfield of the Schaak group, Seong Ik Cheon of the Zarzar group, Abigail Fagan of the Schaak group, Emily Featherston of the Cotruvo group, Margaret Gerthoffer of the Elacqua group, and Kelsey Schlegel of the Asbury group have been named recipients of the Weyenburg Award. 

Rachelle Copeland of the Bollinger/Krebs group, Patrick Corrigan of the Silakov group, Chad Drexler of the Cremer group, Conner Hoelzel of the Zhang group, Kwan Ho Jung of the Zhang group, Hayley Knox of the Booker group, Charles Wolstenholme of the Zhang group, Jiansong Xu of the Cotruvo group, and Songtao Ye of the Zhang group have been named recipients of the Apple Award.

Santina Cruz of the Lear group and Joshua Kauffman of the Sen group have been named recipients of the Geoffroy Award. 

Roshan Dhungana of the Giri group has been named the recipient of the Troxell Award. 

Kathleen Krist of the Noid group, Molly McBride of the Boal group, Jennifer Miller of the Keating group, and John Swartzfager of the Asbury group have been named recipients of the Miller Award.

Emily Ott of the Freedman group has been named the recipient of the Scholl Award.
