Andrew Read Presents at TEDMED 2012Andrew Read, professor of biology and entomology and Alumni Professor in the Biological Sciences, recently presented at TEDMED, held at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.

TEDMED is a community of people who are passionate about imagining the future of health and medicine. Presenters and participant come from every discipline within the fields of health and medicine, as well as from business, government, technology, academia, media and the arts. Presentations at TEDMED focus on the challenges and opportunities facing health and medicine today and in the near-term future.

Read’s presentation focused on disease superbugs, which mutate faster than treatments are developed. He discussed how understanding natural selection can help scientists fight back and control antibiotic resistance.
