NASA launched the Swift Mission, which included an X-ray telescope developed by John Nousek and Dave Burrows at Penn State. To this date, the mission operations center runs in State College, Pennsylvania. In 2026, a spacecraft will launch to boost Swift to a higher altitude and extend its life.
