Searches for neutrinoless double beta decay (0vbb) provide the most sensitive test of the Majorana nature of neutrinos.  Observation of this lepton number violating process may be in reach of detectors in the coming years, as ton-scale experiments reach half life sensitivities for the decay approaching 10^28 yr.  In this talk, I will describe recent results from the EXO-200 experiment, a liquid xenon (LXe) time projection chamber (TPC) searching for 0vbb in Xe-136.  I will also describe plans and initial R&D for the next-generation nEXO experiment, which aims to scale the LXe TPC technology to the multi-ton scale.
