Event Series:
Experimental progress from the semiconductor nanowire-based Majorana platform has led to high quality/stable superconducting gaps, quantized zero-bias peaks with conductances approaching quantization have been seen. I will review some of the simulations from the Maryland group to understand how these recent experiments fit into the Majorana as well as to other non-topological (Andreev bound states - ABSs)frameworks. In particular, I will then discuss proposals to distinguish these scenarios. Following this I will describe ideas for measuring bulk topological signatures such as through transport in Coulomb-blockaded superconducting.
