Abstract:  The atmospheres of exoplanets are of great scientific interest because they can shed light on topics such as planet formation processes and even the search for extraterrestrial life. A powerful method for probing the atmospheres of exoplanets is that of cross-correlating model exoplanet atmospheric spectra with high-resolution spectra observed with ground-based telescopes.  In this talk I will give an overview of this method, show recent results, and discuss the future outlook with regard to upcoming instruments.
