Title: Agent-based Modeling for Adaptive Evolution
Abstract: The goal of this talk is to introduce some agent-based models to describe the evolution of structured biological populations. I will review some of the main questions in the modeling such as
-how to structure the population, phenotypic traits vs. genotypic?
-how to model reproduction?
-how to handle large and small sub-populations at the same time?
I will also present the basic chemostat setting that is commonly used for theoretical studies and an example of application to cellulose bio-degradation.
