Being a woman in STEM is challenging but brings a special camaraderie. Looking at history textbooks, it seems like women have had the right to an education in STEM for a long time, but the problems women faced, particularly women of color, still carry over to today. Changing STEM into an equal and welcoming environment for women is slow-going, but every moment of progress brings the most rewarding feeling. It can be very hard for anyone to visualize themselves succeeding in a field without someone from a similar background to look up to.
