What motivates you to do/pursue science and/or medicine?

Scientific research is central to addressing global problems such as climate change, environmental pollution, sustainable energy production, access to clean water, and much more. I have always been motivated by the role of science in sustainable development, particularly for our environment, and in creating a better world not just around me but for everyone.
