What motivates you to do/pursue science and/or medicine?
I am a curious individual who has a passion for critical thinking and solving problems, which is why I am drawn to science. I am specifically drawn to medicine because I am interested in health disparities, especially amongst Black women like myself, and hope to actively work to better health in communities of color.
What does Black History Month mean to you?
Black History Month is important to me because it is a time that Black people are celebrated after years of oppression that still at times impacts us today. Black individuals have done so much for the growth of our country and spent decades unrecognized and unappreciated, so it is befitting that we finally have a time that we are acknowledged.
