What motivates you to do/pursue science and/or medicine?

I am motivated to pursue science because I know that it matters. Scientific research discoveries influence how we treat diseases, the food we eat, and even how we care for our planet. I feel a sense of gratification knowing that the science that I do could impact someone’s life someday. I love science.

What does Black History Month mean to you?

Black History Month is an important time to celebrate the impact of African American culture in the past and present, but it also reminds us to have hope for opportunities of the future. I also see it as a time to shed light on how the Black community continues to advance culture, industry, and society.
