What motivates you to do/pursue science and/or medicine?
I continue to do science and pursue health care because it’s always been what I’ve been excited and passionate about. There’s always more to do with things being discovered and equity progressing, which keeps my interest. Also, I didn’t have a person to guide me in my science journey, so I also continue my pursuit to be that person for others.
What does Black History Month mean to you?
Black History Month to me is a reminder of the importance of continuing to study and celebrate Black history—a reminder because Black history is to be commemorated throughout the year.
Anything else you would like to share?
For anyone who doubted themselves along their journey, whether they were Black enough or smart enough or good enough in the community or to pursue STEM, I promise you, you are always enough.
