What motivates you to do/pursue science and/or medicine?

Growing up, I loved mysteries, excelled in math and science, and wanted to be a police officer. However, in the seventh grade, my science teacher introduced me to forensic science. Since then, I have fallen in love with the profession. Upon graduating high school, I applied to Penn State because the Forensic Science program ranked in the top five in the country. Now, I work in the profession I’ve dreamt about, as it combines all my childhood interests.

What does Black History Month mean to you?

Excellence and understanding. This month is dedicated to showing the excellence of Black people, but it is also meant as a time to educate others about the past, and current struggles that still exist.
