What motivates you to do/pursue science and/or medicine?
My motivation is to be an example of a path that can be followed by pursuing whatever it is that you are passionate about. The short version of how I got to where I am is exactly that. I always tell people that I did not choose to be a data scientist; it chose me as I pursued my interests in math, statistics, and programming.
What does Black History Month mean to you?
It means a lot to be able to highlight the leaders who put in the sweat equity to effect changes that allow me to have the privileges I have now, and this is something that should be celebrated year-round.
