What motivates you to do/pursue science and/or medicine?

After graduation, I plan to go to physician assistant school. I want to go into medicine because I want to help others, specifically communities that face more health disparities than other populations. Underrepresented groups are heavily misrepresented in health care, and that motivates me to pursue medicine to help.

What does Black History Month mean to you?

For me, Black History Month is the month to celebrate and appreciate Black culture and the achievements of the Black community. Black History Month is also a reminder we can achieve anything despite the challenges or difficulties that we may face in society. Black History Month also is a time to educate others who may not know about Black history or haven't been taught about it. This month brings a sense a community within society.
