What motivates you to do/pursue science and/or medicine?

Science is discovery, and for me there isn't a more interesting avenue of discovery than the human body. The eyes in particular are my muse, as they are amazingly intricate and helpful in communicating to us our overall health in a noninvasive way. Optometry and ophthalmology are rapidly expanding in knowledge and technique, and I am thrilled to be a part of these groundbreaking fields. As such, I am motivated to educate communities about preventative care in the form of ocular health and vision exams as a means to improve health outcomes prophylactically.

What does Black History Month mean to you?

Black history is the world’s history. It must be taught. It must be shared. It must be remembered at all costs.
