What motivates you to do/pursue science and/or medicine?

The lifelong passion for learning new things and continuous opportunity for professional and personal growth. Seeing my patients recover from mental disorders and illness, and make growth in their lives, is what motivates me as a psychiatrist most of all.

What does Black History Month mean to you?

Honestly, I look at Black History Month as every month I have the opportunity to do something positive for the Black community in Philadelphia, where I was born and live.

Anything else you would like to share?

Giving back to the community through my involvement in promoting Black arts in Philadelphia and by volunteering with my church community also gives me a sense of real purpose to improve the lives of other less fortunate and disadvantaged people, particularly Black people.
