What motivates you to do/pursue science and/or medicine?

I’ve always been motivated by curiosity. Science provides endless opportunities to pursue and satisfy curiosity. You learn a lot, can share your knowledge, and also create opportunities for others. It is very fulfilling.

What does Black History Month mean to you?

It’s foundational. It’s inspiring. It’s not just one month, it’s every day. I do the work I do so the next generation can thrive and elevate themselves to the next level. Black History Month means appreciating the past and the opportunities it has afforded me, while working to be the foundation for “who got next.”
