What motivates you to do/pursue science and/or medicine?

One of the most devastating situations I've experienced in life was watching a close family member battle cancer. I find motivation in my career as a biotechnology/biopharmaceutical scientist, knowing that I am developing cutting-edge therapies that will help treat, and potentially cure, cancer.

What does Black History Month mean to you?

To me, Black History Month is about never forgetting the foundation of my ancestral roots and being thankful for the sacrifices, lives lost, tears, and bloodshed in order for me to be in the position I am in today.
