What motivates you to do/pursue science and/or medicine?

What has always appealed to me about applied math is that there is a definite right and a definite wrong answer as long as you can prove it. As I’ve advanced in my studies, I’ve also discovered how interconnected every other field of science is to math, making me love it even more. It’s a beautiful and elegant language and the basis of every other scientific field.

What does Black History Month mean to you?

To me, Black History Month is a time to highlight important and influential African Americans because it is so important that people from all backgrounds have a role model that they can see themselves in. Black History Month is also a time to remember and learn from the past, so that history doesn’t repeat itself.
