What motivates you to do/pursue science and/or medicine?

What motivates me to pursue science is the unknown. As a scientist who is delving into technology, I’ve learned that there is a lot of discovery still happening in the field of human-computer interaction, and I am driven to become a part of that learning space.

What does Black History Month mean to you?

To me, Black History Month means reflecting on the true, rich, and unedited stories of the Black experience over the years. It’s a celebration that also makes room to address inequities, corruption, and threats to Black life worldwide. For open hearts, it can be a time of learning, unlearning, and restrategizing for the sake of progress and growth. Year after year, there is more Black history to honor and uplift and I am also reminded of the history standing next to me—my family, friends, and community, whose paths will be remembered and inspire not only future generations but also me.
