What motivates you to do/pursue science and/or medicine?

I am motivated to pursue medicine through my passion for science and serving marginalized communities. I believe that representation matters, and pursuing medicine will allow me to advocate for people of color who are often overlooked, especially Black women.

What does Black History Month mean to you?

Black History Month is a time to recognize the remarkable work of African Americans and celebrate their achievements. It is vital to highlight the accomplishments of Black people and uplift and support them and their work. This month allows me to pay tribute to those before me while also acknowledging the current work of Black creators. The contributions of Black people should not only be recognized during February; we should be celebrated all year round.
