As a young boy growing up on a farm, I was curious about why things were as they were. Science gave me an explanation, so I became hooked.
As I aged, the questions became more complex, the answers came more slowly, but I never lost faith in the fact that the answers existed. I was curious and learned that I loved being around the curious people I found in the scientific community.
My regret is that there were too few people of color in my profession. I have spent my life trying to change that.
